This coming weekend I am going to a personal growth workshop called The Human Experience that focuses on one's relationship with one's parents. My rel with them is pretty good right now, but I have to send in the answers to some questions about my relationship with them, and I'm writing right now about how they reacted to my coming out to them 3 yrs ago.

I'm crying as I write.

It is going to be challenging and rough at times, I think, but it's also meant to help you work through a bunch of your stuff.

Filling out the questionnaire was already very revealing to me. There are many good things about my relationship with my parents as well.

I recently watched a video interview with Bruce Lipton, who said that more than half the time, sick people get better on the way to the doctor. His point was about the placebo effect, the power of our mind to anticipate healing and then not actually need the doctor.

I wonder if filling out that questionnaire was a bit like that for you.

Well, yes and no. It brought up a lot of stuff, good and bad, but leaves an awful lot unprocessed, still to be dealt with.
